If you have found yourself contemplating odd jobs to get yourself out of a financial funk during the recession, you’re not alone. Many people find some of the most desperate jobs around. It doesn’t matter if respectable and intelligent people exist, if there aren’t any jobs, and money is tight, people will do what is necessary.

Being a shark repellent tester is a literal dirty job. Someone’s got to do it, and during a recession, you might have to do it. This job includes cutting up dead sharks, working in a lab, and testing the finished product on yourself. Fear is obviously not an option.

Phone sex is a figurative dirty job. People who have found themselves taking this career path are traditionally very intelligent and educated, and consider it an easy, ‘clean’ and safe job. For these people a “whatever gets the bills paid” mentality is usually required.
